One student received a $1,000 scholarship from HDAA to help with tuition, and another received $500 to help with meals while attending college. This happened in June 2023 during the board meeting of NSSEO.

Lori Krakora, President, and Angie Kubiak Vice President, presents Alumni Jean Hoppe with $250 dollars from our Helping Hands Fund in December 2019. $125 gift card to use for Uber, and $125 towards her medical bills.
Jean wrapped up treatments for Breast Cancer. She does not drive, so Hersey Deaf Alumni Association stepped in to present her with an Uber Gift card to help offset costs for her medical visits, as well as helping with her medical bills.
